Sculpture: Giant Nest

£3,500.00

Reclaimed steel, copper wire, twine and light bulbs

150 x 150 x 150cms

Giant Nest was originally created as a site-responsive piece for a garden ‘Esotera’ - part of the Abundance Garden Trail, 2013. This was a Somerset Art Works/National Garden Scheme project. It was shown in the idyllic garden along with my other site-responsive installations, linked to my theme ‘Garden of Eden’. Giant Nest was inspired by the free roaming poultry in the garden and a form in Hieronymous Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights.

Giant Nest has a sturdy base, which raises the main structure slightly off the ground. Designed for outdoors, it requires minimum maintenance - a soft brush once every few months, and the bulbs could be gently wiped.
